About Buddy

Help us to save Buddy! Like so many, our rescue is full and we can't provide for Buddy like he deserves. Buddy is close to two years of age and full of love! Truly a sweet dog! Breed is unknown: our vet has described him to be American Staffordshire Terrier mix with possible Boxer influence. Buddy per the vet has soft, expressive eyes that will melt your heart with slight wrinkling around the face. This sweet boy has already been through quite a journey in his young life. He was first found at a gas station in Texas by a kindhearted man who couldn't bear to leave him behind. When offered a ride north, the man brought Buddy along, hoping to give him a better future. Unfortunately, when they arrived, the driver never came back, leaving the man and Buddy stranded. Despite everything, Buddy's spirit has remained bright. His rescuer did everything he could to care for him, even while facing struggles of his own. But as the weather turned colder, it became clear that Buddy needed a safe and stable place to call home. That's when his story was shared - and now we're hoping someone amazing will step up for him. About Buddy: Fully vetted - Good with other dogs (with proper introductions) but chases the feral cats that visit the rescue's property. He still has some puppy energy and will benefit from continued training. He knows basic commands and will give you his paw! He loves to be brushed and gets along with other dogs as long as THEY can tolerate his wanting to play. Buddy is a sweet, affectionate, and ready to love his forever family! He deserves the chance to grow up safe, warm, and cared for. Please consider opening your heart and home to this special boy! Note: We remain involved in our dogs' lives, so we only adopt out to New Jersey to make this possible. A fenced in yard is required!
