About JOJO and SMILEY

*LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY-Within a 1-hour drive to Pensacola, FL* Ready for some fabulous little puppies? Meet JOJO and SMILEY! These two precious 3 month old sisters are a Dachshund-Corgi mix, weighing in at just 5.5 and 6.5 pounds. They were brought to us with the hope of finding a home together, since they absolutely adore each other. SMILEY is the more timid, Dachshund-like sister, while JOJO is playful and outgoing with Corgi traits. Their prior owner was concerned that JOJO might be going blind. She has striking blue eyes and is part dapple, so her previous owner worried about her vision. After a full vet exam and wellness check, we're happy to say JOJO currently shows no signs of vision impairment. That said, blue-eyed dapples can sometimes develop issues later on, so it's something her forever family should be mindful of. The good news is that she has a seeing eye dog of her own in her sister SMILEY! What we do know for sure is that JOJO and SMILEY are pure joy! They love to run, wrestle, and play together, and would do best in a home with a secure fenced yard. (Currently that is a requirement, if that changes we will update their bio.) They've learned how to use the dog door and, like all puppies, are working on house training. With patience, repetition, and a consistent routine, they'll get the hang of it. JOJO and SMILEY get along beautifully with the other dogs in their foster home, steering clear of the crankier seniors. They'd likely do fine with children, but we recommend no toddlers due to the possibility of future vision issues. We aren't sure how they would be with cats but they are young and can adopt with proper introduction. At the end of the day, JOJO and SMILEY love nothing more than curling up together in their bed or climbing into your lap for endless cuddles and kisses. The girls have been to the vet for a full wellness checkup, are up to date on shots, have been started on heartworm prevention, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. Their spays will be scheduled at one of our vets when they are 6 months old. They will also receive their rabies vaccine at the same time. The spays and the rabies vaccines are included in their adoption fee. Because they have pending vet appointments they are local adoption only. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally. We do not ship or transport our dogs.
