PLEASE HELP! Peanut needs a foster, adopter, or foster-to-adopt. Hi, my name is Peanut! I'm a happy, rambunctious 60-pound mix who's about 2-years-old. I try to be humble, but it's sometimes hard because everyone says I'm extra handsome. I've been waiting a very long time to be adopted. I'm especially eager to have a place to call home because I spend most of every day in either an indoor kennel or an outdoor run. Though cared for and walked almost daily, being pent up is hard on a young, curious, and active boy like me. Full disclosure! I'm no plug and play dog. You'll need patience! I'm basically a four-legged spark plug and sometimes my enthusiasm is over the top. Please don't hold it against me when we first meet. Though I get excited when let out of the kennel, I start feeling my true personality just itching to come out. I enjoy interacting with people, going on walks, and sniffing the outer surroundings. I never need coaxing to go on a walk, car ride, or adventure. And, words cannot describe how much I love road trips! Unfortunately these occasional experiences don't happen often enough to really let me become the real Peanut. I attended three weeks of boarding and training, but that was a while ago so I have the 'use it or lose it' syndrome. I'm a decent leash walker, but need more practice. With consistency and reinforcement of the skills I learned, I'm sure to get back on track. Post-adoption training included! Having a real home and doing real dog things is all I dream about. I need an adult-only, large-dog-experienced home and a large yard to make this dream come true. Being an only pet is probably best, but I am open to meeting a potential dog sibling for compatibility. We'd have to meet and interact first. My caregivers want you to know that I require: An initial period to decompress and transition to a new environment. A daily routine and regular exercise. Continued reinforcement of training and work on manners. A home without children and cats. Savvy teens considered. Please contact Live and Let Live Farm's Rescue & Sanctuary.
