About Paulie

Paulie is a Dutch Shepard or Belgian Malinois. We found him running on the road by our kids school, skin and bones. We took him to a local vet to have him scanned for a chip and he is not chipped. We got him vaccinated and started heart worm medication because we have other pets at home and wanted to be sure they are safe while we find Paulie a forever home. Paulie is super intelligent and has quickly picked up basic commands (sit, down, stay). He loves to swim in our pool with our kids. Paulie is protective when new people come in our house and we keep him muzzled or crated for safety when we have guests. We crate Paulie overnight and several times throughout the day to rest, but he loves to snuggle and is super affectionate. We walk Paulie daily at a local park for 1-2 miles, he does fine with people passing by, but is reactive to dogs. We believe this is mostly learned behavior from our chihuahua who walks with us and is quite yappy. Paulie will do best in a home where he is the only pet and can receive full attention and training. Our vet believes he is 6-12 months old so he is very much a puppy and an active breed that will need dedicated training. We have two cats, our dog, and two teen boys at home and as much as we would love to keep Paulie we recognize that it is not what is best for him or our family.
