Meet June Bug June Bug is an adorable eight-month-old labrador/mountain cur mix. Such a wonderful combination that makes for a great companion for a family with kids or without. We pulled June Bug out of a high kill shelter the day she was set to be euthanized due to lack of space. Incredible to think that such a young and healthy puppy could lose her life for space. We pulled her as soon as we could and brought her to our no kill shelter. When she arrived June Bug was scared and uncertain. We wish we knew her background, but we know she is already spayed and microchipped and she appears to be housetrained. Our vet wonders if she might have been kept in a crate for most of the time, because she has a few broken teeth as if she chewed on a crate to get out. When she first arrived, she would hesitantly wag her tail and lower her head. It was heartbreaking to see her so timid and uncertain, and yet full of hope. Every day she gets braver. We found that she loves her friend Annie and we often put them in the play yard together. June Bug likes other dogs. We think she'd do well with another dog in the home. She likes to play and chase balls. She is great with cats. As June Bug settles in, we've learned she loves attention. She likes hugs and scritches. She is beginning to trust us and will jump up for hugs. She is a gentle girl with a sweet disposition. She is learning what kindness feels like and is soaking it all up. June Bug is medium size and may not grow too much bigger. She has a gorgeous fawn/tan colored coat, warm brown eyes and a trusting face. June Bug is energetic. Not crazily so, but older pup energy. Long walks or hikes or fetch in the yard will be right up her alley. She walks pretty well on a leash and travels nicely in a car. We'll test her with cats. We love this young pup and know that there is a wonderful family looking for a terrific young pup to welcome to their heart and home. June Bug would love to know what a loving home is like. She will be a snuggly companion and such a gem to have around. We hope her stay with us will be short.
