Chip was gifted to my elderly neighbor as a puppy and has been his loyal companion for seven years. Chip is the smartest dog I have ever known, and has taken his job as 'man's best friend' very seriously. Chip's buddy died on Friday (sept 26th) and Chip is in need of a new job. He has never had a 'dog's life' in that he has never been socialized with other dogs, cats, or children and very rarely left his owners side. He is very protective of his house, though very gentle and kind once he has been introduced to someone new. My hunch is that he would adapt and thrive well to whatever his new situation, provided that his new person is patient and understands his history and the breed. Chip is an amazing dog and has dedicated his entire life in the service of his elderly friend. He deserves to find a great person who can offer him a retirement fitting of his service.
