We rescued MELLOW on December 27, 2024 when she and her housemate were both owner surrenders, after living in the same home since kittens. When she arrived to us she was dazed, bewildered, confused, scared and sick. She also had a very large umbilical hernia! MELLOW was started on a round of antibiotics and her URI did subside, but not completely. She was then started on stronger antibiotic, but her appetite was slowly diminishing and she was losing weight; her coat was greasy looking and dull. It was discovered that she now had FELINE INFECTIOUS PERITINITIS (FIP). This is a FATAL DISEASE if not treated quickly and diligently. MELLOW was started on the medication known as GS and she received the full protocol for treatment and stayed in treatment for 94 days. There is also a 94-day observation period after the treatment. MELLOW survived and she is doing amazingly well! Her Umbilical hernia was repaired a few weeks ago and she is now ready for the next phase of her life. Her Forever Home. What MELLOW needs is a quiet home with one other quiet very friendly cat. MELLOW has had a rough 10 months and she needs someone who will respect all she has gone through. We want someone who is knowledgeable with cats. She is sweet, loving and has a quiet nature. She loves light brushing and will require that to keep her longer coat looking pretty. It will take her a while to decompress going into a new home and she will need your help through this transition. There is ABSOLUTELY No name change�'�|.MELLOW has had the same name all her life.
