Oakley is a sweet loving 5(ish) year old pup. He was originally rescued from the south and has been living in the White Mountains. Oakley has some challenging behaviors that make it currently difficult for his owner to support him. He is rather territorial of his owner and his space. He does well in environments off leash like Dog Mountain or Doggy Daycare. Once someone is in his circle, they are in and he trusts them. He has had two situations (I blame myself for putting him in that situation) where he has nibbled people. Both were situational and truly my fault. One was meeting a stranger in the dark and the other was having a stranger enter the house unannounced. I'm currently unable to have friends over because of him being territorial. I feel like I am unable to live my life the way I normally would. I have sent him to doggy boarding school twice and he has made great progress but still has a ways to go. It breaks my heart to consider rehoming him. He would do best in an environment with no kids. With the right introduction, he could do well in a home with other dogs. He loves to run and play. He is truly the sweetest most loving dog, but has his quirks. I am hesitant to use the word aggressive, because he isn't aggressive by nature. It is due to extreme anxiety in situations.I really hope to find him a loving home where he can run and be happy. Please email me at [email protected] or text me 6036169947.
