About Henri

German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Henri is a loyal, loving, smart, and fully house-trained Belgian Shepherd who has been an integral part of a family but who needs a new forever family and home. This is due to a recent unfortunate incident when Henri, acting on his protective instincts, bit an unannounced guest. He was a stray who showed up on a friend's porch about a year and a half ago and his original owner could not be found. Henri loves car rides; is leash and crate trained, has good recall and knows basic commands as SIT, STAY, NO, BEHAVE and SHAKE (sometimes). He was trained by a professional German Shepherd trainer. He is well-mannered and thrives on affection, particularly enjoying hugs. He lives harmoniously with two other dogs, a male irish wolf hound and an older, alpha female silver lab, and he gets along well with people once properly introduced. Henri has never been around young children. Genetic testing by Embark confirms he is 100% Belgian Shepherd with no Malinois ancestry. Henri will be a devoted companion in a loving home where the person wants an adoring cuddle partner who will protect the home and owner; a family or person who knows and understands the breed, has lots of love to give and time to spend exercising, training and enjoying life's adventures and joys with him. Henri's family is devastated to part with him but are committed to finding him a loving, suitable home. He is currently in Texas and they will provide transport to his new family.
