Looking for a dog-free home for the sweetest cat in the world! Meet your new best friend/professional cuddlebug! This is Linus, a 3 year old male domestic shorthair who is looking for a new zip code. This sweet friendly boy is neutered, FeLV negative, and UTD on all vaccines. Linus was left abandoned at the home of a relative (not one I have any sort of relationship with anymore) with a colony of stray cats. My partner and I assisted with the trapping and rehoming of all the cats on the property, but fell in love with Linus and brought him home. He is the sweetest cat I have ever known. All he wants to do is be up in your lap or snoozing in a patch of sunshine. He loves belly rubs, curling up in the crook of your knee, and forehead kisses. He will match your vibe, whether you are down to play all day or snuggle up on the couch with him for a movie night. My only reason for rehoming is that Linus hates our dogs. He is constantly stressed when they are around; hissing at them, scratching them, and most recently he has started marking his territory by urinating everywhere that the dogs frequent (this issue was confirmed behavioral by our vet via a urinalysis). Our dogs are not disrespectful or overly invasive, but they are high energy and very playful, which he does not like. We introduced them all slowly and properly, and he has his own cat tree/hides/places to escape, but our apartment is small and we can only do so much to accommodate this issue. Our dogs lived here first and must be our priority, and trying to manage this incompatability has lead to them not getting the attention they need and deserve from us. It breaks my heart to make this decision but I know deep down it is what's best for our family and for Linus. Linus's ideal next home looks like: - Someone who will keep him indoors ONLY unless on a harness/leash or catio. This is non-negotiable. - Someone who is either allergic to dogs or can commit to living in a dog-free household. He might do okay with older/senior/low energy dogs but I cannot guarantee this. Someone living in a multi-cat household! This is not a requirement but more of a preference. Linus loves his kitty friends! He bonds very closely with other males after a slow and proper introduction and I think he would do well with a friendly female assuming she matches his low energy level. We would love to find Linus a home in a family, and according to his previous owner he played very well with their young (pre-k-elementary school aged) children! This is also not a requirement by any means but something to note :) If Linus sounds like he would be a good match for your lifestyle, please contact me. There will be a small rehoming fee to ensure a suitable placement, and he will come to you with his toys and treats if desired.
