Simba (red, almost 2 years old) and Mufasa (black, almost 3 years old) were surrendered when their owner, facing serious health issues and upcoming surgery, could no longer care for them. Though heartbroken, she wanted to make sure her beloved boys had a safe and loving future - and now they're ready for new homes! Mufasa weighs 54 lbs. He charmed everyone at the vet (until they touched his feet!) and was a champ for his bath. Simba weighs 72 lbs and could use a little diet help. He was nervous at the vet and panicked when restrained, but never mean - just overwhelmed. What they're like at home: - Both are very people-friendly and unusually kissy for chows - Ride well in the car (Mufasa just prefers not to travel on a full belly) - Know how to use a dog door - Have been respectful of the fence and well-behaved overall - Simba has done well with other dogs - Mufasa prefers a calmer setting and feels overwhelmed with too many dogs at once - They're not strongly bonded and may thrive better independently Gentle, loyal, and full of personality, Simba and Mufasa are ready for their next chapter. Whether adopted together or separately, they'll make wonderful companions for families who understand and appreciate the chow spirit. **Simba and Mufasa are being fostered in O'Brien, Florida. Paid transport can be arranged. Transport costs range from $200-400.** If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application @ https://form.jotform.us/41173109602142.
