About Piper

Piper is a very loving dog that loves to cuddle up with you whenever you sit down. She loves to go outside and run. She enjoy playing fetch and tug of war. We do not have a fenced yard and she keeps going over the 3 ft patio fence we have. She needs a big, fenced yard or a farm with plenty of room to roam. She is part long haired chihuahua and the lady we got her from said mini rottweiler so not sure what two breeds she used for the mini. She does well with my grandchildren ages 2 and 3 years old. Does well with adults. We have not had her around cats. She knows the command sit and we have been working on lay. She is very food motivated and for someone with more knowledge of training and more time she would train well. She shows some herding behaviors so might be able to train to help with animals. I work from home and she is used to being inside most of the day, but we crate our dogs for their safety when we leave the house. They are never left for more than 4-5 hours. She does get anxious when we leave. She weighs 15 lbs and is on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. It has not been an easy decision to do this, but we can't have her running into neighbor's yards all the time and worry about her getting hurt when she gets out. She is crate trained and housebroken. She will not tell you she needs to go out but will go sit by the door. We have been working with bells on door, but she has not quite caught on.
