~*~*~ VERY SPECIAL SITUATION, NEEDS URGENT PLACEMENT ~*~*~ %BD%BD%BD%9D%A4%BD%BD%8F* PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE RESPONDING * ARIZONA ONLY, PHOENIX METRO AREA * * Lacey was adopted from us about 2.5 years ago and thought she landed her forever and loving home. It is with a very sad heart here, and an even sadder heart from her mama, that Lacey needs to find a new and very special home. Lacey is now 7 years old. A little over a year ago, Lacey developed a condition in which sadly, neither of her beautiful sparkling eyes could be saved. She is now blind. She gets around fine because she knows her home and her human, she loves happy voices, and she knows she is loved. Unfortunately, due to circumstances that cannot be amended, Lacey's mama has to go back to work, outside the home, full-time. Additionally, she is moving in with someone where there is no fenced-in yard and the neighboring dogs will make it an unsafe situation for Lacey. Lacey's mama has asked if we can find a new home for Lacey so that she can have a safe environment and someone / people around to love her and make sure she is comfortable in her new home. She will learn her environment soon enough despite being blind, and we are hoping to find quick placement for her so she doesn't have to go to foster -- not knowing people, not understanding, not being able to see ... and then start all over again. The sweet girl is precious and loving. She might be okay with older and respectful children in the home, but because she is blind, she will do best without surprises, without little kids, without a rowdy environment, and best without another dog. Peaceful, happy, loving ... all good. She is still good at walks on a leash. She would love a retired person(s) or someone who works from home so she is not alone during the day. We do not want her to feel abandoned and not know where she is and not be able to see .... this is so heartbreaking. %BD%BD%BD%BD At least if her new human(s) are around a lot, she can get a lot of love and hear caring voices throughout the day to let her know that everything is okay. %BD%BD%BD%BD Lacey's new home should have no stairs or steps, and should have a fenced in yard so she has a place to be comfortable for her potty breaks. She should never be left outside alone. Some grass in the yard for happy-sniffing time would be great. She needs a safe little paradise. When we had Lacey in rescue, she was about 27 pounds -- she's not tall but is a sturdy young lady. She has put on just a few pounds and should be given controlled portions and only healthy veggie tidbit snacks so she can get to her best healthy weight. If you would like to be Lacey's special angel and give her a new home and family, please email to let us know why, and tell us about your setting for her. Her personality and love will absolutely melt you. We can set up a meet & greet upon approved application. Please email to request one.
