About Scout

We're looking to rehome a small dog who has been a loyal companion to my elderly grandparents. He's a chihuahua mix, around 8 years old, and they're no longer able to care for him. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to take care of both my grandparents and the dog, and we want to find him a home where he can get the attention and stability he needs. He's a bit anxious, especially with new people or changes in his environment, but does come to warm up. He is very attached to my grandma and loves to sit with her all day. I think he would be a great fit for a retired person or couple who are looking for a low effort friend. Unfortunately, he's picked up some bad habits, as my grandparents struggle to be consistent with him (e.g. getting up to take him outside in the morning, giving in to begging behavior). I think he is still smart and would train well with some consistency. We believe he's in good health and up to date on shots. If you think you might be the right fit please reach out.
