About Rhody

My name is Rhody and I'm the sweetest boy ever. I came up to my foster humom earlier this summer outside as she was watering flowers and she could see I needed help. I hadn't eaten in a while and I had a dew claw dangling. The vet and one of humom's foster friends think I might be an escapee from a nearby illegal puppy mill but despite an evident history of abuse and neglect I have learned to accept and return love, be house trained, and have a regular schedule of walks, meals, and treats. Humom didn't know all this at first and nobody in the neighborhood (or online) claimed me. I didn't have a chip but I do now. They also made sure I got fixed and nursed me and my bum paw back to health. I'm pretty comfortable here, but humom has some health issues and the cats and I really don't get along. There are also some meaner dogs in our neighborhood that I really do not like. Humom has spent a lot of sleepless nights trying to decide what's best for me and she really feels like I need a forever home with someone (or a couple of someones) somewhere else, someone stable and mature and responsible�'�| maybe you. I do best with the ladies, or more mellow guys, but I get a little scared when dad and humom's son get loud or I think they are scolding me. I was very protective of a little 7 year old girl next door when I thought one of the mean dogs was going to get her, but I was pretty sweet with her otherwise. I need someone who maybe works from home and doesn't mind me sitting by you on the couch to watch TV, or even sharing your bed. Humom would love it it was someone nearby so I could make a gradual transition to a new home (I have been through a lot already) but would be willing to drive within a 10 hour radius of El Paso TX for the right person.
