This incredibly beautiful dog had a run of bad luck. He appeared to have been on his own for quite a while'|was very thin, covered in ticks and fleas, he felt bad and we thought he had a broken front leg. We rushed him to the vet and turned out he had been shot! It had been long enough ago that it was healing up, but infected and the bones were shattered so badly that they had to amputate his leg. All of that is behind him now, he's doing great and has learned to navigate on three legs'|very well, I might add. Through that whole ordeal he never quit wagging his tail and giving kisses. Kip is very sweet and friendly and LOVES everyone he meets. He likes to stay pretty close to his humans, sometimes right under their feet. He is pretty active and playful with the other dogs and get's along wonderfully with all of them. I've mostly let him out in the play yard with smaller dogs because I didn't want the bigger ones knocking him around too much. Kip is a Border Collie, so he will need room to run and exercise and maybe have a job to do'|a fenced in yard would be a huge plus for him. I've seen tripods run relay races and agility courses and beat the other dogs'|not saying he could, but it's a possibility! All I want for Kip is to be adopted by a fun and active family'|one that will treat him like the rock star that he is and one that will include him in their daily comings and goings. Kip is 1 year old, weighs around 35 pounds, has been neutered, 4DX heartworm tested, microchipped, fecal tested, is current on all vaccinations, worming, heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee is $200 for a local adoption (West Tennessee).
