Courtesy Posting: X URGENT at MESA, AZ- ID #A5150648 - MARICOPA COUNTY ANIMAL CARE (EAST VALLEY) -BEAUTIFUL CHOW HUSKY RETRIEVER LOOKING MIX- estimated to be only 2 years old 'ZAYLA'- ADOPTABLE, BUT MAY NEED RESCUE AND THUS ALSO A FOSTER TO SAVE HER LIFE! SHELTER IS FULL and puts many chow and chow mixes on their euth list suddenly. Please help us find a good home or foster and rescue for this young, pretty girl who was found as stray at a park and and her owner sadly never showed. The shelter has named her Zayla and listed her as a 2 year old chow husky mix, although we think she looks like she could also have some retriever in her with her beautiful coat. She weighs 56 lbs. Although Zayla was a little shy when found and had to be carried, more recent shelter notes describe her warming up and easy to handle and state, 'Easy to pull from kennel, Easy to return to kennel, Ignored dogs when walking past kennels. soft body, loose wagging tail, light pant, handler fed dog treats through kennel door and dog ate gently, when handler went to unlock door, dog slowly retreated to outside portion of kennel, handler closed guillotine behind dog and went around to pull from back, on re approach, dog was up with two front paws on the kennel door, continued soft body, handler went to crack open door and presented leash loop, dog jumped down and placed nose to the crack of the door, handler was able to leash dog and dog walked out of kennel, dog pulled to nearest bush with low body and pancaked under bush but continued to walk with low body towards yard, handler sat at bench and dog would come up to handler and solicit pets, allowing petting all over and leaning in for more, dog took treats gently, dog jumped up on handlers lap for more pets and continued soft body with a light pant.' Zayla is now adoptable, but likely on borrowed time and needs out asap since she has come down with some nasal and ocular discharge and was placed on doxy on 9/19.
