Courtesy Posting: X URGENT at PHOENIX, AZ- ID #A5150886- MARICOPA COUNTY ANIMAL CARE (WEST VALLEY) - ADORABLE, PETITE YOUNG 35 lb FEMALE CHOW X (possibly with some jindo or shiba inu) 'CINDERELLA'- ADOPTABLE, BUT MAY NEED RESCUE AND THUS ALSO A FOSTER TO SAVE HER LIFE! SHELTER IS FULL and puts many chow and chow mixes on their euth list suddenly. Please help us find a good home or foster and rescue for this adorable, little young girl who was found as stray and her owner sadly never showed. The shelter has named her Cinderella and she resembles a chow jindo mix. The shelter listed her as a 2 year old chow mix. At only 35 lbs, Cinderella is perfectly size. She is now adoptable, but likely is on borrowed time. The shelter notes describe Cinderella as 'standing near front of kennel, gentle wagging tail, soft face. Became more wiggly as handler was opening gate. Dog was initially a little head-shy of leash but allowed placement without issue. Needed some encouragement to exit kennel as neighboring dog was at gate, barking. Once out of kennel, dog walked with a moderate pace, loose leash, occasionally slowing or stopping, needing some coaxing. In yard, dog explored with loose body language, tail down, neutral. Would allow handler to approach and pet when going slowly. Easily startled. Handler walked dog to main building; dog appeared cautious but continued with coaxing. Entered new life room without issue. Allowed handler to remove leash by hand and then step out.' Cinderella is shy at first so Shelter additional notes state, 'need socialization, leash work, go slow, experienced handler, no cats, and children 12+.' For a copy of full behavior and medical notes, though, please go to: https://apps.pets.maricopa.gov/adoptPets/Home/Details/A5150886 If you may be interested in adopting, please contact the shelter immediately and directly at (602) 506-7387, ask for her by ID. Adoptions are currently only $50 currently. This includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and microchip. She is already spayed and ready to go home. Please note we are looking also looking for foster in case she does need rescue. If you are interested in fostering, fostering-to-adopt, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for her rescue), please also contact [email protected] asap or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement. We will try to pair fosters or interested parties with a rescue group. Rescue groups may contact the shelter directly at [email protected] and by calling 602-506-7387 and providing the ID.
