SHELTER IS FULL and puts many chow and chow mixes on their euth list suddenly. Please help us find a good home or foster and rescue for this young, friendly boy who was found as stray and said to be roaming the area with another dog. The shelter has named him Teddy and listed as a chow mix and estimates he is 4 years young. At only 44 lbs, he is perfectly size. Sadly, his owner never showed though. At the shelter, Teddy is described as, 'Solicited attentions, Easy to pull from kennel, Easy to return to kennel, Takes treats nicely, Easy/Loose Leash, Calm, Ignored dogs when walking past kennels, In yard came right over to me, put paws on my lap. Allowed me to pet him which eventually became hugging him. LOVED it & kept returning for more. He is friendly, loving, calm, quiet, cooperative, gentle, respectful, and a kisser. love him! Soft body at front of kennel, slightly head shy of leash but quickly warmed to handler and allowed it. Walked with light pull. Affiliative and attention seeking in yard. Allowed all petting; put front feet in handler's lap for attention. Interacted well and calmly with kennelmate. No issues on return. Removed leash by hand.' For a copy of full behavior and medical notes, though, please go to: https://apps.pets.maricopa.gov/adoptPets/Home/Details/A5150634 The dog he was found with is A5150636, although he or she is no longer listed. Teddy is now adoptable, but is likely on borrowed time in a full shelter. If you may be interested in adopting, please contact the shelter immediately and directly at (602) 506-7387, ask for him by ID. Adoptions are currently only $50 currently. This includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and microchip. Teddy was already neutered at the shelter so he is ready to go home! Please note we are looking also looking for foster in case he does need rescue. If you are interested in fostering, fostering-to-adopt, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for his rescue), please also contact [email protected] asap or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement. We will try to pair fosters or interested parties with a rescue group. Rescue groups may contact the shelter directly at [email protected] and by calling 602-506-7387 and providing the ID.
