Meet Rio This gorgeous puppy is looking for the perfect family. Adopted as a young puppy, Rio was returned when his family was going through some tough family issues. He isn't sure why he's come back, but he is loving all the attention. Rio is about a year old. We think he has heeler and beagle in him. He's medium in size with long legs, a slim build, gorgeous eyes and a beautiful rust-colored coat. He's lived in a house and is housetrained. He has great manners. He walks easily on a leash and travels well in a car. He even knows some commands. Rio is very smart. He's exceptionally friendly and affectionate. He loves being with people. Rio grew up with children and loves hanging out with kids. Rio is attentive, he listens well. He's still a little shy at the shelter and doesn't allow himself to be fully outgoing or playful, but we know once he's back in a home, feeling safe and loved, this fun and silly side of him will come out. Rio is easy-going and just wants to belong. He is energetic and generally happy go lucky. He likes seeing his sister Violet, but given the potential for sibling syndrome, we don't think adopting them together is a good idea. We hope Rio's stay will be short. He's such a terrific young dog that will transition easily into a home. If interested in a wonderful companion, please get your application in. Rio is a gem and you will love having him as part of your family. If you want to give Rio a second chance at love, get your application in at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter ([email protected]) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions.
