Meet Scruffy * OK APPROVED APPLICATION REQUIRED TO SCHEDULE A MEET AND GREET ADOPTION APPLICATIONS CAN BE ACCESSED ON OUR WEBSITE: almosthomefoster.com Almost Home Foster Kennels, is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue. Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia. All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit. Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption. All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped. We are currently accepting adoption applications for Scruffy. He is scheduled to arrive in Minnesota on 09.20.2025 and is fully vetted. Scruffy made his way to Almost Home Foster & Rescue when the family dynamics were upended Scruffy found himself surrendered, by his owner, to the local pound in the Wewoka OK area. These shelters/pounds have a revolving door, therefore, they only have a 3-day hold period before they are euthanized; healthy or not. Scruffy is estimated to be 3 years of age. We are giving him a DOB of 08.08.2022 . Scruffy does well with other dogs, and is indifferent to cats. Scruffy appears to be fully potty trained as he has slept on his foster's bed without incident. He keeps his night-time kennel clean and dry. Scruffy is a double-coat, wire-haired Jack Russell/Terrier mix. He is approximately 15#. He is neutered, vaccinated, and will receive him microchip upon arrival at AHFK. Scruffy is looking for a home where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Scruffy acclimate to his new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. A fur-sibling would be an absolute dream for Scruffy. Please allow 6-8 weeks for Scruffy to acclimate to the changes in his life. We state that Scruffy is potty-trained, however we realize that changes in routine and environment causes stress and can lead to accidents. A solid routine, patience and compassion are required for all new adoptees. Meet and greets are scheduled upon approved, completed application.
