9/23/25-Foster Update: Meet Roger! He came into rescue due to his owner's busy lifestyle' and is in foster care in central Iowa. Roger is a black Golden'doodle weighing 54 pounds. He just celebrated his second birthday in mid-September. He's a sensitive sweetheart with a goofy side. He adores car rides (and might try to 'eat' a few cars that pass by). Roger just got a very needed short haircut to get rid of mats. He is so handsome and will be curly again soon. He is incredibly gentle with kids, despite his larger size. He is crate trained but is trusted to sleep out of his crate at night and for short periods during the day. He knows basic commands such as sit and come but a basic training course would be recommended. Roger has shown no signs of resource guarding. He loves to curl up in a large chair and watch the world outside. Roger is also working through his reactivity to other dogs and large trucks while on walks and is making progress. On walks, Roger gets especially excited and pulls, but a Gentle Leader has helped. Forever Home Requirements: *Children: Currently lives with loud and active 8 and 10-year-old boys and do very well with all neighborhood children who visit. Families should be aware that Roger does run hard when he gets the zoomies and could inadvertently knock over a kiddo. *Dogs: Roger is attending daycare and does well with other dogs in this setting. Preference is to be an only dog in the home to lap up all the attention! *Cats: Unknown *Physical fence required. *Home: He would not be suited for an apartment due to his loud bark. Complete your adoption application if you would like to welcome Roger into your home!
