About Ollie

Ollie is a 4 year old mini Australian shepherd and I am unfortunately having to give him up due to aggression issues.. He has bitten people several times (nothing severe) and has attacked my kids several times unprovoked. Luckily he did not harm my kids when this happened, but because of that and my new housing situation I am no longer able to keep him. He barks, growls, and wants to attack most strangers that come to the house. He is very sweet to me and has never harmed me. I think he would do well with some more intensive behavioral training, but I am unfortunately unable to provide that for him. I have reached out to several shelters in our area and no one will take him due to his aggression. This has unfortunately left me with no option other than to euthanize him if I cannot find somewhere for him to go..:( Which I really don't want to do. I have no problem bringing him long distance if it means I don't have to go with my last option of euthanasia. He has lived with 2 cats, one that put him in his place right away so he doesn't mess with him. He likes to chase the other cat, so she avoids him. He was good around other dogs when he was younger, but hasn't been other dogs in a long time. He is good around me and my parent. Ok with kids, just wants to play rough or protect. He seems to be over protective when outside the home, so unknown compatibility with others. He's dominant and food aggressive, but seems to have anxiety at times. Becomes submissive when you have a spray bottle. Thank you for your consideration.
