About Alfie

This cutie is Alfie, he is a 5 years old Australian Shepherd / Border Collie mix who weighs about 35 pounds. Alfie is a smart guy. He knows sit; heel; down (he lies down, then immediately rolls onto his back.) Alfie loves to chase and catch frisbees; occasionally 'dances' upright and does pirouettes. He is athletic and fun. Alfie is also house and crate trained. Alfie is hesitant with new people. He does need a few moments to warm up. Alfie is great with large and small dogs. He likes to play with dogs his size and larger. He lives with a cat that likes to torment him, but we think he would be fine with a dog savvy cat who is more relaxed. Alfie does like to fetch. He likes other toys and sometimes doesn't want to bring them back. He is starting to learn that the game includes bringing a ball back and the ball being thrown again. Alfie would be a wonderful adventure partner. He is great on leash and loves to go places. Click on the red YouTube bottom to see him on a walk. He loves car rides! Alfie is focused on being a great best buddy and quickly bonds to his new person. He has a strong drive to please and learns commands quickly. He loves to run and play, but will return quickly when called with his name and a quick whistle. He loves to be pet, brushed and rolls over for belly rubs. He is alert to any activity outside, but only gives a quick few barks to let you know there's something going on. He will emit a cute little howl to you if he's outside playing and you turn your attention away from him. Another bonus: he has a thick coat, but sheds very little! Alfie is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Long Beach, CA, and is ready to meet adopters who can come here to adopt.
