About Journey

READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING. I am losing my farm and cannot take my dogs with me. Flashlight Farmers Journey Home is the daughter of our Honey & Titus. She is three years old and spent the first year of her life living with her owners in a tent and van in upper Michigan after then van broke down on the way to Alaska. When they could no longer care for their dogs, she arrived at my house two years ago weighing 72 lbs, much smaller than her current healthy 98 lbs. She is AKC registered and currently intact. You will be responsible for spaying her when she arrives. I am losing my farm and cannot take her with me. Journey is no longer acclimated to the livestock she lived with as a puppy. She is familiar with cats and safe with cats who are comfortable with dogs and will not run. Journey has lived both as an outside dog and inside pet. She is comfortable inside, house trained, and will wait until she can be let out to potty. My Yorkies have cut across her room and she ignored them, but because she was not raised with small dogs I have not let her have unsupervised time with them. She does like to romp with large dogs like herself, and is especially fond of cohabiting with males. Journey has shown no desire to challenge fences. Journey has been OFA health tested, including hips, elbows, patella, Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response testing for deafness, and genetic screening for testable inherited diseases. Hips scored Excellent and all other tests were normal. Because she was starved for so long, she does not like other dogs being near her food. She should be fed separately from other dogs, and no food left out to guard. Once the food is removed, she's ready to go back to socializing and playing with other large dogs. She would work best in a home without small children who may forget that you shouldn't walk up and hug a dog while she is eating. Journey is available for local pickup in Lynchburg, TN. I may be able to deliver within a three hour drive.
