About Dixie

Dixie was born 11-30-2024 and has AKC paperwork to register her. We bought Dixie from a family in north Georgia. I met both her parents. We bought her and her sister in April 2025 as livestock guardian dogs for our goats, chickens and ducks. She does well with goats but has killed multiple chickens and one duck. After an incident I begin to notice she was hard of hearing. This has made training her more difficult and I don't have any experience training LGD since this is our first pair. She is a lover and wants to please but is not safe unattended with fowl. She walks right by my side when I walk through the pasture and loves rubs when we walk by the fence. She's a sweetie but it's not fair to my chickens if/when they may hop the fence to her side. She would be a great LGD for goats, sheep, etc or a perfect family dog! Originally purchased her for $500
