Rocco is 5 years old and lives with one other spayed female German shepherd who is 10 years old. He also lives with a 4yr old little girl and does well with her, however wouldn't do well with kids who jump on/push boundaries with dogs. He does not enjoy cuddling, but loves to play fetch and loves a good back scratch & to be brushed. He is territorial over food/toys around other dogs- so he has to be fed separately in our household. He is potty trained & has no bad behaviors like marking his territory or humping people or objects, though he does briefly jump when excited meeting new people. He is high energy and would do well if he had a job to do everyday or could go on 2-3 walks/day. He is in great shape, has no signs of mobility issues and is a healthy weight for his breed. He would do best in a home with no other dogs preferably, but we are willing to do a trial run in a home with other dogs to see how they get along. He can be somewhat resistant to correction, and would do best in a new home that is able to provide consistency and daily one on one training with someone who is motivated. Unfortunately- it is difficult to give him what he needs due to our busy lifestyle. He is a great protection dog as he will let you know if someone is at the house. He would do best with a large yard and the ability to roam and have lots of mental stimulation. He has some anxious tendencies but has never destroyed things in the house. He is house broken. He is a good dog overall, but needs an owner dedicated to him who is active and able to give him the physical and mental stimulation he needs. Prefer to rehome him to someone with lots of land and experience with this breed. We are interested in learning about you and the lifestyle you can provide him, we just want the best for him- this is not an easy choice for us. But ultimately the choice is to give him a better life than we can provide at this time. If you are interested please text or call!
