Hello, my family was recently given a short notice PCS overseas and are in need of re-homing our cat prior to beginning the move. She is a 10 year old Maine Coon we have had her whole life. Both her mother and father are also Maine Coons from our first tour in Germany. She is great with children and babies (we have a 10 year old and a 10 month old, anytime either of them are upset she is constantly near them, never scratched the baby (despite him occasionally grabbing her fur and us not being quick enough!) and does not mind dogs. Given time, she is the first to initiate play, naps, and other interactions. She has only briefly been around other cats (last time was around 4-5 years ago) and she did not want anything to do with the other cat (hissing, yowling). Overall, she is fun, loud, and oddly loves to be in the center of family chaos. Unfortunately, on top of us moving soon, she has also began urinating on our baby's play mats. We assume it's stress related, but we do not have the time to figure out or correct the root cause of it admist the move. We really want to ensure she's going to be going to her forever home and will be given the love and attention she deserves. For that reason, we want to include all her familiar toys, beds, her auto feeder, and two cat trees to help her transition to her new forever home. We also have two cat carriers for vet trips, moves and travel, which she is surprisingly good at when not overseas/airborne. We feel that she would adjust the happiest as the only cat in a small family for the attention and cuddles she deserves. For all these reasons and more we will require a face to face visit with potential adopters to ensure her safe and amicable transition to her second and hopefully final home.
