About Twitch

American Staffordshire Terrier / Pit Bull
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Twitch !! We took this sweet boy into rescue when we found him being rehomed online at only 3 weeks old. Poor guy should have never been apart from mom that soon. Thankfully we were able to care for him and he's growing up quick!! Twitch is an approx 7 week old male. (Will stay with us until at least 8 weeks old) We don't know his breed but assume some sort of bully breed based on his looks. He currently weights 7 pounds. He is likely going to be a medium to large dog full grown. He will get several sets of vaccines, dewormed, a microchip and neuter as part of his adoption. Twitch is small right now but still has a huge personality. He's not afraid of anything and is a bold little guy. He's full of spunk and energy. He loves to play with other dogs and has no fear of dogs no matter how large they are. He has not yet met any cats so we do not know how he would do. He hasn't been fostered with kids but did great with the ones he has met so far. He is a very active puppy with sharp puppy teeth so any small kids may accidentally be knocked over or chewed on until he learns his manners. Twitch is doing very well with his training for his age. He is still just a baby and will need lots of training but he's got a good start. He is doing surprisingly well with potty training for his age. He can't hold it long but he goes outside whenever you take him out. He still has some overnight pee accidents but will try to whine and be let out to go. He has been using a pack n play as a crate and does very well with that. He sleeps in there overnight and is usually only vocal when he needs out to potty or is hungry. He has only taken two car rides but did well on both. He has not yet started leash training. So far he's had no trouble sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or humans. Twitch is very energetic puppy. He's constantly on the go but does well entertaining himself with toys or other dogs. He needs a family that understands he will need to be exercised daily and given both physical and mental exercise to be happy. Due to him not having his mother around he missed out on some life lessons from mom. He needs a firm, consistent owner to help him understand the rules. He can get a bit bossy at times and needs guidance on what's acceptable behavior. How this puppy turns out is on your family and the effort you put in. If you chose to adopt him and not give him both proper socialization and training consistently, it could lead to him being hard to manage. It's all up to you, so please consider that before asking to adopt. We absolutely adore this little man. Hes a spunky, playful puppy. He loves to hop around and play with toys twice his size. Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your family's lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them. Please carefully consider the time and effort a puppy requires before adopting. |%8FVet and home checks required. '%BC%8F|%8FDO NOT APPLY IF YOU RENT AND HAVENT ALREADY ASKED YOUR LANDLORD IF YOU CAN OWN A MASTIFF TYPE BREED unfortunately, they are not allowed in most rental situations.|%8F'%BC%8F Located in Hampton VA.
