Meet August. August is a gorgeous 5-month-old Treeing Walker Coonhound with a big heart and an even bigger future ahead of her! At just 5 months, she's already around 45 lbs and is expected to grow into a large, 70-80 lb companion. This sweet girl is fully vetted, potty trained, and a certified cuddle bug. She loves curling up in bed with her person at night, and during the day she enjoys roughhousing and playing with her dog friends. What August Needs in a Home: Fenced yard: With her natural prey drive, August needs a secure yard where she can safely run, play, and explore. Time and attention: August has some separation anxiety and barks when left alone. She would thrive in a home with someone who works from home or has flexible hours. Apartment life isn't a good fit for her, as her barking could cause issues with neighbors. Allergy care : August has mild allergies and will need a family committed to her care-this includes weekly baths, occasional Benadryl, and supplements or prescriptions as needed. Her breed is prone to allergies and ear infections, so consistency is key. Leash training : She can be timid in new public settings and sometimes freezes on leash. Her new family will need patience and gentle encouragement to help her gain confidence. Other Details: Dog & cat friendly! She loves the company of both. She has started to resource guard treats with people, but she's young and already learning with training and redirection.
