About Skye

Skye almost 5yr old female Great Dane/St Bernard mix who is spayed, has her rabies vaccine. For Skye she has been trained by J&R Kennel and does really well with them there. I used to board her there but 2 yrs ago I was able to have a private dog walker/sitter come into my home while we were away for a week. I had her come to my home for a few days prior to us leaving and go outside with the dogs, feed them treats, get used to their routines and have Skye get used to her. This was a huge success, and I was so proud of Skye for allowing this stranger into our home while we were away. So, it is a process, but it worked and if I can find someone who is willing to take that time with her, she would be an amazing addition to their home. She absolutely loves going on walks and car rides. She is good on the leash and good in the car. When she is out in the community, she gets a little anxious but when people are coming near us, we sit and wait and then we proceed. She doesn't try to do anything; she just looks up at me as if to say someone is coming what do I do. Skye is crate trained but she doesn't like the sound of the metal clanging so she will run away if she hears it, but she will go in the crate with the command. She loves playing with the cat laser, playing ball, ripping all the stuffing out of her toys (she doesn't eat it), enjoys laying on the couch and sleeping in. Her favorite treats are hot dogs, fries, anything chicken and her dog treats. She needs someone to be patient with her and love her as much as I do. I am looking for a family that does not have small kids (she has never been around them) and will take her for walks and car rides. I am asking for potential adopters to meet with her first and get to know her.
