Kianu is not a city dog. He really needs to be on a farm or ranch or at least a place with some freedom for him. I live in an orchard/forest and he has a free run but will never go farther than he can see you. Kianu is an amazing companion and very loving friend. He can be very calm but also high energy if you want to play with him. He has a slight limp in his right front leg but when running doesn't favor it at all. I have timed him at over 30 mph in a pasture. He has no pain or lack of range of motion. I had an MRI and x-ray taken and it shows some genetic or trauma related thinning of joint space. He is a good guard dog but also is able to be friendly with new people that his owners accept as friends also. He is up to date on all his vaccinations and has regular vet checks. I have had him as a rescue for short of two years. The reason I am unwillingly having to re-home him is that I live in the working area of an orchard. That means there are many 4 wheelers driving up and down the orchard and being a natural header(Shepard term), he wants to bite the front tire of the 4 wheelers. This scares the drivers and my landlord says(rightfully so) that this is unacceptable. When I am outside and he meets my gaze, he will not do this but when I am busy and can't see him, he will do it. Other than that, he is my best friend and companion. Although he loves anyone in the house and begs for pets and loving from everyone, he will truly bond with just one person and listen to them over anyone else's commands. He is extremely bright and learns new things all the time. He can understand and obeys many verbal and hand commands. He really wants to please his owner. He has never soiled the inside of the house. It saddens me and I am sure it will also sadden him for us to be separated. It took about three full months for him to feel like I and my house were permanent for him. So expect him to be nervous at first and very clingy and needy but that is just a bonding process. All in all, he is a great companion, very loyal, alert, easy to learn and always wants to be part of everything going on.
