About Summer

Lab / Beagle
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet Summer !! We recently took in summer and her siblings (spring, winter and fall) from an awful situation. The owners threw them all outside to roam around and live on their own. They refused to bring them inside to safety to give us time to save them. Thankfully a neighbor saw this and over a few days helped catch them all for us. They were dirty, covered in fleas, full of worms and under socialized. Thankfully we have resolved those issues and they are ready to go to great homes. Summer looks like a beagle and lab mix puppy but the owner told the neighbor they were beagle and golden mix. They are approx 5-6 months old and not very big. We estimate medium size full grown. She is currently only 26 pounds. She has been given several sets of vaccines, dewormed, a microchip and spayed. Summer was terrified of people at first but now she's showing us her fun playful and loving side. She's learning that all people aren't scary. Shes very active and playful. She loves toys of all kinds and running around the yard. She loves other dogs and takes direction and loves to play. Can be a little shy with new dogs at first. She is great with and absolutely loves kids. She has not met any cats yet but is young enough to learn. She has not had any trouble sharing food treats and toys. Summer is still young and learning all her training. She wasn't shown how to behave prior to coming to us but I'd learning quickly. She is not completely potty trained but is starting to get the idea. She uses the doggy door on her own but needs to be reminded to go out regularly and stay out until she goes. She hates her crate and can be very vocal about it. She will need someone consistent to help her learn if you want to use a crate. She did fine in the car and did not get sick. She will need more leash training. They had clearly never been on a leash before we got them so it was very scary for them. They are starting to understand it more now but will require additional help from their new owners. Summer is currently a fairly active girl. She has a medium to high energy level. She enjoys a good snuggle but mostly is in her playful stage. She is also smart and eager to learn. She loves to explore and play. She is an active puppy and will need lots of physical and mental stimulation to keep her happy and out of trouble. Overall this baby girl is sweet, fun and just wants to be loved. She was let down by her previous owners and is looking for a family to be as loyal to her as she will be to them. Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your family's lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them. Please carefully consider the time and effort a puppy requires before adopting. We do NOT adopt siblings into the same family. Before commenting on how sad etc, you feel that is please google 'littermate syndrome' so you can understand why we take this precaution. It is done in the best interest of the puppies. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) %BD'%BD%BC%BD%BD%8FPlease message [email protected] or to see more pics and get a faster response message our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application.%BD'%BD%BC%BD%BD%8F
