SHELTER ASKING FOR HELP, MAY BE EUTHANIZED IF NO FOSTER/RESCUE STEPS UP. RESCUES NEED FOSTERS- CA ANYONE HELP? CHOW OR SIMILAR BREED EXPERIENCE REQUESTED. We are in urgent need of finding a chow savvy foster or foster to adopt, as well as rescue for this pretty, petite girl who ended up at the county kill shelter as a neglected stray with a coat in need of grooming. Fondly named Chinchilla by the shelter, she is estimated to be 5 years young and has no reported or mentioned medical issues. At 40 lbs, she is also perfectly sized. Not surprising, the shelter said, she 'Came in very shy with people but sweet and is now coming around. She has also participated in shelter play groups.' In fact, we have several videos showing her doing well with both large and small dogs, as well as enjoying being pet. Additionally, volunteer notes state, 'She Keeps her kennel clean and was anxious to get outside and potty, pottied a bunch outside (showing signs of being housebroken). Fearful at leash up but walked nicely on leash. Mostly keeps distance in the yard but occasionally approaches and let me scratch under chin a couple times' However, despite this, the shelter has yet to make her adoptable, and she remains in Rescue only status, meaning only a rescue group can save her. Rescue groups need fosters, or someone interested to foster to adopt. She cannot be adopted directly from the shelter at this time. although we are happy to request for you.
