About George & Piper

Two wonderful rescue dogs up for adoption to a wonderful home! Located in North Hickory. Long story short a few months ago we were attending a birthday party for a family member. This family lived directly across from where these two dogs were located. These precious animals were living in horrific conditions and apparently just existing for approximately 2 years. While I want to spare too many details, I feel it is important to make everyone aware of what these babies had to endure. They were starved to the point that they had no choice but to consume their own poo to stay alive. They had basically NO shelter from the elements and Piper was caged (both chained) in a confined area where she could barely turn around. What little water they had was muddy and not drinkable. We had to think fast and come up with a plan to get them out of this environment. It was nothing short of a miracle we were able to convince these people to turn these guys over to us. Might I add it was so difficult to be nice during this process, but no choice if we had any hopes of taking them with us. Fast forward to today and you are looking at two of the most affectionate, healthy animals who just want to be loved. We were unable to house these guys primarily because we did not have a fenced in yard. We were put in contact with an absolutely wonderful, caring couple (God send no doubt) who was aware of what was going on with the dogs. They agreed to house them in a great area as shown in the photos until we could get them fattened up and healthy. They have great outdoor houses that are equipped with lots of straw inside and bales all around to ensure warmth. They are both leashed trained. We walk them often. Over the past few months, we have had them spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and dewormed. Piper and George are two happy babies living their new life and enjoying every moment! Piper is crate trained and weights approximately 30 pounds and will get no larger. She is a high energy dog would be great with kids and loves everyone. Piper is a hugger and would make a great indoor family dog. The photos make her look so much bigger than she is in person. George is part great Pekinese and St. Bernard and weighs about 95 lbs. but is a loving 95 lbs. George loves everyone as well. Both George and Piper are bonded obviously and would LOVE if someone could adopt both. We understand most likely they will need to be adopted separately. The most important thing to us is they are each given a wonderful forever home. Because of what they have been through we would be appreciate a home visit. These guys deserve the very best and we feel it is up to us to make certain this happens. Up to date on vaccines.
