Grimmie is a HANDSOME 3 year old boy with the BEST smile who is a perfect medium size at about 45 lbs. He'll be at the shelter this Saturday from 12-2, so come meet him! He is: Active. No couch potato here. Grimmie loves walks and fetch is life! He even brings the ball back! He would love a family with a yard to run/play in. Smart. Grimmie has been working on: sit, leash manners, off, drop it, and just general good behavior. Potty trained. He did have a few accidents the first week I had him (this is normal for a dog in a new home), but none in the weeks since. I do take him out every 2-3 hours for a potty/play break. Crate-trained. He does well in a crate. I've not left him in one for more than about 3 hours at a time, but he just sleeps. I would not leave him home alone uncrated just yet. He's still learning not to get into things. Dog friendly. He was in play groups at the shelter. He has an energetic play style. Cat friendly. Possibly too friendly. He is pushy with my cat about trying to get him to play. He will follow the cat around and paw at him to get him to play. He does stop when told, but he may be too much for most cats. Hilarious. Grimmie has a big personality that will have you laughing every day. |Things to note: Grimmie can sometimes be mouthy and pushy about pawing at you when he wants attention. We're working on learning that behavior isn't acceptable. He's just a big pup basically who probably wasn't taught good manners before he came into foster. He's learning, he does well with being told no or just being removed from the situation. He just needs continued patience and guidance in that area. He is a busy guy who is always looking for something to do. If he's bored, he has a tendency to get into things. He sometimes has trouble settling down and needs to be put in his crate for about 30 minutes so he can relax. He doesn't mind at all and sometimes even goes into his crate on his own. He does come to the office with me and he is great about napping while I'm working if we take breaks to potty and play a little fetch every 2-3 hours. If you can give Grimmie a fairly active life, if you can give him continued guidance in a couple of areas, and if you enjoy having a dog with a big personality who will keep you laughing, let's set up a time for you to meet this handsome boy!
