About Moose

Moose is a sweet boy, who loves to be told what to do and follows direction really well. He's always looking for a job to do. He would do well with an active person or couple who enjoy taking him on a jog/run, short bike rides, hikes (he's off leash trained) and/or long walks. And would do well in a house with a large (high min. 6ft) fenced in yard. He's very agile, and would be great at agility and sniff work. He would be an amazing work dog. Moose can be nervous at first when meeting someone new, but once he gets to know them he loves them immediately. He loves his attention. We've had a pretty easy time introducing him to new people. However he like to guard his people from other dogs. (In the house). His biggest triggers are being in a house or van with another dog(s) especially around another dog who is overly anxious and hyper. He guards his crate from other dogs. And is food aggressive (with dogs only). We specialize in pack walks, so he has a lot of socialization and has fun with his friends during the off-leash hikes. (Would not recommend bringing him to dog park). And does well on the leash pack walks. He is muzzle trained, and highly recommend he be muzzled out in public. In case he does get triggered on a walk. We've put a lot of training into him, so he is no longer leash reactive. Everyone who meets him, falls in love with him. But he would need to be in a home with no other dogs. And unfortunately we are not the right home for him. He has gone after our other dog multiple times. And other dogs in the van. Being in a smaller, confined space with other dogs is his biggest trigger.
