Recent update: Shorty is now in foster care with other playmates and he is doing so much better now that he's out of the shelter, but he still needs a forever home!!! Shorty is a 4 year old, 14 pound, Neutered Male. Arrived at the shelter as a Stray on 7/26/2025. Shorty, the chihuahua is a sensitive soul who arrived at the shelter as a 'stray' on 7/26/2025. Shorty was having trouble coping in the shelter environment and often hid in his cubby away from public view. Weeks went by, unnoticed, until our wonderful volunteers laid eyes on him with a determination to help him be seen. While Shorty was fearfully defensive in a very loud shelter, we knew that he could blossom in a temp foster home with our shelter volunteer and he has certainly transformed! Shorty is large and big dog friendly and learning how to be a great furry companion. We are hoping to find a rescue or adopter who can help Shorty continue his amazing transformation so that he doesn't have to come back from his temp foster arrangement.
