NESSIE is a 2 year old, 15.3 pound Cairn Terrier who was owner surrendered to find a new home. She came into rescue very shy and overwhelmed, but after a few days, her sweet personality shined through. NESSIE has a very beautiful and expressive face and it usually is asking for love. She loves to give big wet kisses by standing on her person so they can't get away. She also loves being petted and snuggling with her person. Initially she was very hesitant to be picked up but she is now becoming more comfortable with it. NESSIE is good with other dogs and another playful dog in the home would be ideal. She has started playing with one of the younger puppies in her foster home and seems to be enjoying having a friend. She has not had any interest in toys. We think she would be good with kids but since she has not been tested we would prefer a home with older kids. We do not know how she would be with cats. NESSIE is mostly house trained but has occasional accidents. If she cannot get outside, she will use a pee pad most of the time. A fenced yard would be beneficial because she still needs to be trained on how to walk on a leash. It's likely NESSIE did not get treats in her previous home because she is very cautious and looks to the other dogs reactions before taking any. She is a good eater, and loves snuggling in the big bed at night. NESSIE has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida.
