This gorgeous kitty girl is Chessie as in the Chessie cat mascot of the old Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. A beautiful Calico Tabby known either as a Caliby or Tabico, Chessie has stunning spots and swirls similar to those of Bengal Cat. Her super soft cost is an amalgam of tans, blacks, and light and dark oranges. Chessie became one of my rescue wards on Sunday, January 19, 2025. At the time she was a teeny tiny kitten, skin and bones in desperate need of rescue. Her finder reached out to me requesting assistance. Upon entering her apartment in Gilpin Court, I spied Chessie peering out of a small cardboard box. As I readied myself to leave having placed Chessie in a kitten carrier, the individual stated that she had a second kitten the same size as Chessie. Her young son then entered the room in which I was standing dangling a small black kitten by its back I legs. I departed not only with Chessie, but also with the black kitten, who I named Peake. While I do not know if they were from the same litter they became and remain great buddies. Chessie is a super gregarious, playful girl who also enjoys cuddling. She is long and lithe, quite graceful and resembles a miniature Cheetah in looks and her movements. A strong personality, Chessie can be bossy/pushy at times especially at meal time, but does verywell with my personal and rescue kitties. She is quite smitten with all my dogs and enjoys interacting with them. Chessie enjoys playing with any type of wand, springs and jingle balls. She has mastered the turbo scratcher and pummels the PawsPik interactive toys. Fuzzy mice stand no chance against this fierce huntresses and she will reward her human by placing her favorite toys, fuzzy mice and springs in their bed overnight as they sleep. Chessie is a bed sleeper and will snuggle beside her human's legs or feet until she become too warm. Chessie is spayed, has combo tested negative for both feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus, has been rabies and distemper vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and dewormed. If interested in becoming this great girl's human, please feel free to contact me. I do when possible like to receive a vet reference for potential adopters.
