About Gertie

Gertie is a vivacious, fun-loving senior bulldog mix. She is estimated to be about 10 years old and weighs around 50 pounds, although she is a short stack. Gertie found herself at a local shelter, underweight, heartworm positive, terrible skin and was obviously used for breeding. We have completed all her medical treatment, including heartworm treatment, and she is now ready to find her forever home and be somebody's baby. Gertie is great with all people, both children and adults. She's friendly, outgoing, silly, loving and affectionate. She loves to cuddle, chew bones and will make you smile with her silly rolling and fun personality. She is the best co-sleeper! When it comes to other dogs, Gertie is a true bully. She's a dominant girl and can be a bit obnoxious. She does well with other dogs that are truly submissive and tolerant. She does have some food aggression with other dogs (not people) and that has been easily handled in her foster home by feeding her separate. She's not at all offended by that. Gertie is really a gem of a lady and she really is so fun and cute. Especially with her wide grin and crooked smile, she will definitely steal your heart.
