Lady is a sweet 12-pound Chihuahua Mix, who is 12 years old. She is very active for her age. She is very friendly once she gets to know you, but it may take a few minutes for her to warm up to strangers. She is good with other dogs, cats and kids. She is house trained and will go to the door to be left out to go potty. She is also crate trained but does great if left alone in the house while you run errands or want to go shopping for hours. Lady has the sweetest temperament and does not have a mean bone in her body and zero prey drive. She spotted a bunny in foster mom's yard and just slowly walked over to visit with the bunny but did not run/chase after the bunny. She was just curious about the bunny. The bunny hopped away, and she did not chase after it. She loves to lay and look around in the yard for long periods of time, so a fenced-in yard is highly preferred. She listens really well and will come when you call her name, Lady. She is also a quiet little girl. Foster mom has only heard her bark twice, and that was only because the other dogs in her foster home got her stirred up! Lady is current on vaccinations and spayed. When she first came into rescue it was recommended that she also have dental cleaning, however, she does have a grade 3 out of 5 heart murmur, so she is not a good candidate for anesthesia. She still has a slight cough on occasion, but it has been kept under control with a daily dose of Lasix, for which she will need to remain on for the remainder of her life. Thankfully, it is not very expensive, and she is otherwise a happy and healthy little girl! She would make the perfect companion dog for a retired/work-from-home person who would love to have a loving little lap dog. Lady is currently being fostered in Walkersville, MD and are available for an adoption fee of $250.00.
