About Dozer

Treeing Walker Coonhound
Sex: Male

Dozer is a stray dog that showed up at our house out in the country 4 years ago. We tried to locate the owners with no luck, animal control thinks he was dumped in the country as these dogs typically can find their way home. We were told that he would likely be euthanized if we surrender him. I decided to keep him and try to give him a good life. We do not know his age or any past information about him. He was clearly abused earlier in his life. He is afraid of men, water/water hose, loud noises, overall very skiddish. He lives outside with a dog house, kennel and a collar to keep him in the yard. He will chase / tree an animal if he gets the chance and nothing will stop him, that hunting instinct is very strong for him. Unfortunately, he will kill any prey animals he can get ( ie. kittens, chickens). It is becoming harder to keep him with his instinct to hunt. I would love to find a good home for him where he could live out his years.
