About Sipsey

Adoption Fee: $100
Parson Russell Terrier mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Sipsey found me in Bankhead NF, March 2025. He was immediately friendly; I found him abandoned , along with toys, leash, and food container. He spent most of a day, by my side, goofy silly, friendly, as I continued my hike. He met many other humans dogs, amicably. I kept returning to where I found his affects, but no one returned. He immediately jumped into my car at sunset, bedded down in the front seat next to me. He allowed me to give him a bath, was crate trained going into my large breed crate immediately, and rested all night. Over next few weeks months I introduced him to numerous situations to assess his temperament. He did well in dog friendly bars, off leash and on around other humans and public spaces as well with young children ages 4-13. There was some leash reactivity around other dogs; never aggressive, mostly overexcited. He probably 15 months. Living on 10 acres with other country dogs, cats. No car chasing exhibited. barks to alert. responds to most verbal commands. He chases cats but doesn't show aggression. He hasn't put his mouth on any animal so far. He is mostly submissive when shown aggression. He stands his ground otherwise and makes friends easily. He will anuggle up with you but isn't overly needy. He is independent enough to bed down on blankets and dog beds. He exhibit enough independence to entertain himself, with bugs, chew toys, and the zoomies. Yard for playing amd lounging required. He spends his days solo outside but comes inside for bed and when I have enough attention for him while inside. He doesn't get himself into trouble while, inside, but might be needy for attention until he settles into the routine that you're busy--he then finds his chew toys or naps on approved surfaces. He doesn't enter couches or beds without permission. He will test boundaries, but removes himself following basic command. Sit, stay, down, roll over. He could benefit from more structured routine and more attentive handler. He could go from good to excellent with some structured training. Mainly, he picks up on commands and requirements very easily, without much resistance.
