About Mordecai

Mordecai is a talker :). He may look grumpy in some pictures - but trust us - Mordecai is just in mid sentence- and needs your full attention. Mordecai wants your company more than any cat toy or ball. We are not sure how he came to be wandering alone, but what is certain is that he is an adventurer at heart and is curious about the world around him especially other cats:). Although friendly, Mordecai can get a little grumpy when picked up- however he is perfectly fine when you are transporting him to his food bowl. Mordecai is the type of guy that will sit with you and watch the rain while you sip your coffee. He is only demanding when it comes to pets. He is apt to make friends with a towel or blanket on the floor as shown in the pic. He is also a Star Wars fan. :) Come to the shelter and meet your new black and white shadow! P.S. - Please get ready for nose boops and shoulder rubs with his head. Mordecai is a Churu addict so you might want to keep that in stock :). Hello there the adoption fee is $20.00 CASH OR CHECK it is low as we do not spay/neuter our animals or vaccinate as we do not have a vet on site. Upon adoption you would sign a legal contract stating that within sixty days you will get them sterilized and vaccinated per state requirement. Sometimes due to age or complications the 60 day window can be extended however only by a vets discretion. You do not legally own the animal until proof of vaccination and sterilization have been given to us. You may come to the shelter any day of the week between 8 am and 4:30 pm, just please give us a call beforehand to let us know you are coming at 281 291 5644. Thank you!
