He arrived at the shelter grossly underweight at just 69 pounds, with suspected bite wounds on both sides of his neck and a large open wound on his shoulder exposing the humerus bone. He moves slowly - possibly due to pain, weakness, or another underlying medical issue-but even in his fragile state, Riese remains calm, loving, and incredibly gentle.
