BASIC FACTS Breed: Dachshund Color: Smooth Black & Tan Age: 7 years old Gender: Male, neutered Size: 10 pounds House-trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Good with Kids: No Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Yes Concerns: Chronic IBD BIOGRAPHY Meet Murray! Muray was surrendered to rescue because he had nipped the toddler in the home a few times. In Muray's defense, his former owner admits that the kid would behave erratically around Murry and ty as they may, they could not curb his behavior with Murray. Since coming into rescue, Murray has been nothing but a perfect gentleman! He is your typical dachshund, though, and he is a bit on the vocal side. He also gets nervous around sudden movements, so a calm environment would suit him best. While he may prefer a childless home, we feel that older (12+), respectfully children would be fine. Murray came into rescue with his 'sister', Ruby, however, they are not bonded. While Murray does fine with the other dogs (big and small) in his foster home, his favorite place to be is cuddled up next to his humans. And he LOVES sleeping up in the big bed, so that is a must in his forever home! Murray is neutered and current on his rabies vaccination, however he does have chronic IBD, for which he takes tysolin powder and prednisone He also eats a strict diet of ground beef and rice which seems to keep his tummy issues in check. Because of his IBD, his former owner was advised to give him any other vaccinations for fear of causing flare ups in his condition. He is being fostered in Pen Argyl, PA (Northampton County) and is available for an adoption fee of $350.00.
