About Rusty

Poor Rusty has had such a hard life. He showed up on an elderly gentleman's property in April of 2025, completely malnourished and had the look of defeat in his eyes. He weighed only 32 lbs when he should've probably weighed close to 60 lbs. We immediately jumped into action and started working with our vet to get him healthy. Rusty has now gained 25 lbs back and does not have a mean bone in his body. Rusty is ��%BD��%BD%90%BE Dog friendly ��%BD��%BD%90��%BD Cat friendly ��%BD�%A4��'��%BD%8D��%BD�%A4��'��%BD%8D��%BD�%A4��%BD Kid friendly (over the age of 10) ��%BD%8F��%BD3-4 years old estimated ��%BD��%BD|��%BDHousebroken + Crate Trained ��%BD��%BD��%BD'��%BDHeartworm negative Rusty knows the commands, 'sit', 'down', 'stay', 'come', 'wait', 'paw', 'heel', 'up' and is very smart. He is a great fit for multiple types of households. Whether you want a couch potato or a hiking buddy, Rusty is your guy. Rusty also loves car rides and looking out the window. Due to his unknown past and suspected neglect, we recommend giving Rusty time to adjust to his new environment. He does really well with positive reinforcement and praise. We want to give Rusty a good chance at finding a forever home so we are open to adopting him out of state. We would like him to go to a home where the adopter is patient and understanding of Rusty's past.
