Meet Curly! He is still just a big puppy at heart and is guessed to be 1.5 yrs old and currently weighs 45lbs. Don't be fooled by his size, he is the gentle giant of the shortie dog world. Our best guess for his breed mix is a basset hound or corgi crossed with a long-haired german shepherd. He has a silky soft coat, giant feathered tail, and the cutest candy floss tufts behind his ears. Curly was picked up in Texas as a stray and never claimed. He struggled in the shelter as he found it very loud and scary, but he is much happier now that he is in a foster home. He is shy and submissive in new situations but settles in quickly and loves attention from people he knows. With a little patience and affection, he'll open up and show you his true goofy personality. He loves to frolic around the yard in the evening and will rest his chin in your lap when he is ready to be loved on. He is dog friendly and plays well with the dogs in his foster home. Curly is potty trained and is doing well with his crate training. He does well on leash but does best going on walks in familiar places. His favorite toys are tiny soft ones that he can carries around with him. While he would love a dog sibling or two, he is not recommended to a home with cats, and children 12+ and older only please.
