Final notice EXPIRED on 8/11 Beautiful young Raco is past deadline and scheduled to be euthanized for space. This sweet boy needs very urgent help via a loving home or reputable rescue. #A5712488 1yr Male Akita 61 lbs Stray on 07/11/25 Raco is a playful, medium energy boy who can be a little shy at first but warms up with patience. He was hesitant to be leashed and collared but tolerated handling. In the yard, he showed neutral body language and eventually engaged in play, especially with female dogs. While he had a minor disagreement with one male, he was easily redirected and coexisted peacefully. Raco was tolerant of dogs and has a a push/pull playstyle. Home with adults only recommended. Playful female dogs req. Raco was wary of the handler at first, but allowed the handler to pet his head, neck, back, sides, and abdomen with no issues. The handler checked his ears and teeth. He was uncomfortable when the handler touched his tail and paws, and gently nibbled at the handler's hands and arms before pulling away. The handler gave him a few moments to relax before trying again. Raco allowed the handler to touch his tail and all four paws, but remained slightly uncomfortable. When the assessment was over, he walked back to his kennel nicely but refused to go back in. He planted his body on the ground, requiring gentle pressure on the leash to enter the kennel.
